Combining Energy Work and Massage
It is possible to combine energy work and massage to provide tremendous
help to cancer patients. Many massage therapists and energy workers are
afraid to work on cancer patients because of a fear of either spreading the
cancer to other parts of the body, or of stimulating the cancer cells to grow
faster with the added energy. These concerns are also prevalent among
patients that have tried to get massages or body work and have been told
"how dangerous it is." The truth is most oncologists will approve for their
patients to have massage. There are some restrictions, such as local
contraindications at tumor sites, but for most cancer patients massage is
recommended as primary means of relaxation. If you are concerned, simply
ask the client to bring a note from their doctor stating it is alright for them to
receive a massage.
